Andrew Ingamells’ meticulously detailed original etching of The Temple is the first to be made from an aerial perspective for nearly 300 years – since, indeed, the engraving by Sutton Nichols (1668 – 1740), much copied by later artists, of 1720. Completed in June 2011, this etching took Ingamells six months to make. It includes all the principal buildings and courtyards of the Inner Temple and Middle Temple, some of which are treated in even greater detail in vignettes below the main image.

This was the first etching to be made by Ingamells in his Oxford and Cambridge series. It took six months to complete and was published in an edition of 150 prints in May 2003
